Instructional Materials

The instructional materials have been designed to function as
resources framed to assist community service providers in the best
and simplest format of learning how to conduct successful job
placement with efficiency in a self- paced format.  I am offering a
convenient and tried learning process to workers who are working
in the field of employment placement and who have not been
trained.  The training is designed to be re-usable.  The instructional 
materials is being generated from Blogger.com software where the
software is being used to build an interactive e-learning
experience where an audio narration, pre and post assessments,
career oriented assessment tools and video links  will be generated
in order to make the learning experience more engaging. Using the
software, will allow the training to be accessible globally and at any
time.

Welcome to the Five Essentail Steps to Succesful Job Placement.

My name is Carmen Rios and I would like to thank you for participating in my Capstone Project. .

This training is designed specifically with you in mind.  It will consist of five instructional modules that are geared to provide you with essentail steps for successful job placement.  I hope that you will enjoy this learning expereince.  Once again, thank you for particiapting.  I hope that this has been a valuable expereince for you.  

Module One

Completing a comprehensive intake and creating proactive rapport with the client consists of the following:

a. Receiving the referral
b. Contacting the client to schedule an office appointment by phone
c. Client keeps appointed
d. Getting to know the client
e. Identify barriers
f. Advising client of agency services (observing and listening)
g. Gathering and confirming demographic information
h. Provide information regarding agency work readiness group meetings and remind when those are scheduled are held
i. Provide calendar of schedule contacts and confirm client's employment goal
j. Assess client's skills to determine if they match with employment goal
k. Assessing client's job readiness
l. Schedule next appointment

Module Three

Initiating the Job Development Process

a. Assigned client to gather three sources of references
b. Provide reference practice tool for client to complete
c. If client does not have a resume, assist client to create one.
d. Provide resume practice tool for client to complete
e. Once practice tool has been completed transfer data into a resume template
f. Conduct online job search
g. Client learns how the importance of developing social networks
h. Client's transferable skills can be determined

Module Four

Prepping the client for employment

a. Client is attending work readiness group meetings
b. Client identifies individual skills
c. Client learns and improves interviewing skills
d. Client learns what employers want
e. Client participates in moot interview practices
f. Client learns about appropriate interview attire and etiquette
g. Client learns about behavioral interview questions and responses
h. Client learns about securing safe transportation to and from work is important
i. Client is assisted to complete online and/or paper employment applications
j. Client learns how to create thank you letters
k. Client is introduced to filling an employer contact log
l. Client is ready to begin job interviewing with real employers

Review Client's Progress

a. Client learns to review his or her progress with employers contact log.
b. Worker conducts follow up to verify client employment status with potential employers.
c. If unsuccessful with locating employment, worker assists client to continue initiaing new job searches until successful employment is achieved.
